2007 Symposium

The workday-long event featured legendary technology futurist Ray Kurzweil, winner of the MIT-Lemelson Prize and the National Medal of Technology. Author of "The Age of Spiritual Machines", and New York Times best-seller "The Singularity Is Near", Kurzweil's been called "a restless genius...(who is) the rightful heir to Thomas Edison!" by Forbes magazine.

There were topical tracks with panels of distinguished leaders from within the medical device industry, academe, law and policy, and regulatory and financial fields of expertise. Discussion centered around the U.S.' readiness for the oncoming wave of innovations in healthcare technology and how we might best address financial, regulatory and systemic changes to come, to benefit patients and American healthcare.
