Dan Crippen, Ph.D. served as Director of the Congressional Budget Office for four years, retiring in 2003. Dr. Crippen was an advisor to Ronald Reagan, consulting on issues related to domestic policy, including the preparation and presentation of the federal budget. While working for the Senate, he was chief counsel and economic policy adviser to Senate Majority Leader Howard Baker. Dr. Crippen was also executive director of the Merrill Lynch International Advisory Council, a founding partner and senior vice president of the Duberstein Group, and a principal with the legal consulting firm the Washington Counsel.
Dr. Crippen was the chairman of a panel advising NASA on implementing changes after the Columbia tragedy and served on the NASA's Return to Flight Task Group. He's also worked with MCI on emerging from Bankruptcy, testified before Congress and the Federal Trade Commission and advised NASDAQ on the future of financial markets.
Dr. Crippen holds a Ph.D. in Public Finance from Ohio State University.
