Elizabeth (Bess) H. Weatherman

Elizabeth H. (Bess) Weatherman is a Managing Director of Warburg Pincus and a member of its Executive Management Group.  She joined the global private equity firm, which currently has $13 billion under management, in 1988 and is responsible for the firm’s medical device investment activities.  Since 1989, Warburg Pincus has invested more than $1.1 billion in the medical device industry and helped build more than 25 medical device companies spanning a broad range of technologies and stages of development.

Ms. Weatherman currently serves on the board of directors of three publicly held companies: American Medical Systems; ev3; and Kyphon.  In addition, she serves on the board of the National Venture Capital Association and the National Women’s Health Resource Center, a non-profit medical information provider for consumers.

Ms. Weatherman received a B.A. in English summa cum laude from Mount Holyoke College and an M.B.A from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
